Got Books? / Tem Livros?

Here I am, less than a week away from leaving. Did I say less than a week? YES! Time is flying, and I can already feel my anxiety kicking in.

I realized how this whole time I have been talking about sailing around the world and visiting all these countries but never mentioned I will be studying. A lot of people ask me “When is your cruise leaving?” EXCUSE ME, THIS IS NOT A CRUISE! I am not on vacation.

The MV Explorer is a floating campus. I am going to have regular classes, amazing teachers from all over the country, finals, readings and everything a school requires. While on port, I won’t need to attend classes, however, I will have field trips some teachers require. Oh, and of course, papers to write!

I will be studying my major, which is Communications(broadcasting) and my minor Political Science.  13 credits does not seem too much, but I am pretty sure I will be busy coping with my excitement of visiting all these interesting countries while writing papers.

My classes will be: International Mass Media/Global Mass Communication, Theories of International Relations, Ethics and Human RIghts in World Politics and Global Studies.

Did I mentioned all these classes require 13 books? Yes, I will be taking 13 books just for this semester! I never needed so many books. I am not complaining though, this is going to be very interesting. I am just not too happy with the weight I will carry to the Bahamas.

Well, I am ready for some reading!

Muita gente me pergunta “Quando você estará partindo no seu cruzeiro?”
